Beauty Box 5 Subscription Box Review

Remember when I told you about my Sephora Subscription Box? (here is the link if you want to check it out or haven’t seen it yet). Anyway, this time I’m going to talk about a new beauty subscription box I’ve decided to try and it’s Beauty Box 5. As the name suggests, when you subscribe, you’re going to receive 5 beauty samples and full size products each month. I love how they have three subscription plans to choose. The longer you subscribe, the more money you are going to save. So for example, a month to month subscription will cost you $12. But, if you subscribe for three months right away, you only pay $30 (a nice savings of $6). You save even more if you subscribe for the entire year, which only costs $99! Enough with the basics. Let me now show you a sample box I received, which is actually a November box.

The box is really tiny and contains no other packaging like envelopes, etc. You just open the box and voila, that’s what you see! Each box contains a little card that tells you about each product along with its price and brand. This is a great idea so you don’t have to google any information and if you like the product, you know where to go to purchase it.

And then the products! You always take risks with boxes like this, in that you might get products you will definitely like and use, but also products that might be useless to you. This particular box nailed it for me. Yes, it’s true! Let’s start with the Peony Shadow Trio in Glided. I’ve never seen a tinier eye shadow palette than this, but it’s so cute, especially the packaging! I love how the shades are so versatile as the brown and gold palette really suits everybody. For me, the browns are always my go to shades so I’m definitely going to use these!

Next we have the Manna Kadar Lip Locked Stain Shae which as you can see is something I would call dark peach. I love the color a lot and this is actually the color I’ve been trying to get for a while now – maybe a little bit lighter but this will do as well! It’s definitely a color I don’t have and will gladly add to my lip collection.

Now, I decided to try how the Neutrogena MakeUp Remover Cleansing Towelettes would work if I used them on the lip stain as well as the eye shadows. The result surprised me, as it took just one swipe to clean everything off! I know I used them before, but that was a long time ago when the towelettes where the more practical choice for me (now I use the liquid makeup remover). Now, I can totally affirm that they work great and are definitely a great option for your purse!

Next product, the Cut that Crease Angle Brush, looks really interesting. I like how it tells you exactly what it’s for as I’m not good with brushes! I guess I’ve been using the wrong brush all this time! This one is made specifically to get the job done which is to precisely apply the crease, which might be a difficult task for some. This brush fits in the crease so you will definitely do a better job using it!

Last, but not least, the Briogeo Deep Conditioning Hair Mask, which I actually tried before.  Since I loved it so much I was actually happy to get it one more time! These things are not cheap, so when you get two samples, that’s almost like the full size product, right? Anyways, this hair mask couldn’t have come at the better time, as it’s specifically designed for cold and windy weather! I will be using that of course!

If I had one critique of this box, I would have personally liked to have seen an actual beauty product in the place of the crease brush, but that’s just me. I know there are girls that appreciate the make up tools too and are happy to get something like that. Other than that, I had a positive experience with Beauty Box 5. If you are looking to try products of brands other than what Sephora stores offer, this is definitely the one to try.
