One thing you don’t know about me, is that I love to cook! I have always wanted to incorporate some cooking into my blog and make it a little bit more lifestyle as well, so here it is. I’m going to share a fantastic summer meal with you in this very first recipe post. I don’t know about you, but usually in summertime, when it’s hot outside, I’m not into cooking at all. You’re outside a lot, enjoying the warm, sunny days and there is really not enough time left for cooking. That especially holds so true when Friday comes. That’s why I keep it very simple every Friday and instead of cooking, we either order takeout or prepare something really quick and easy (and by that I mean grabbing something from the store that is all or almost ready to eat).

Last Friday I decided to try Jewel’s signature chicken meal deal. Not only does it come with a full cooked chicken, but also comes with your choice of sides (cole slaw, mashed potatoes, potato salad), as well as Hawaiian sweet rolls. What’s great about this meal is the fact that it’s all cooked. That means you don’t have to heat up your stove and sit by it to watch your chicken on that hot summer day. Genius right? Dinner is basically served in minutes! Another great part is the large bottle of Gold Peak® that comes with every meal. You can choose from many flavors, it tastes great and goes with everything. Its perfectly balanced flavors complete our meal so well.

But I wanted to add a little touch to make my iced tea taste even better, so I prepared it with a twist. And, as a result, I ended up making a fruit infused iced tea made out of the Gold Peak Tea that came with the chicken meal deal. It’s nothing too complicated to make so don’t get discouraged. I just added some berries along with lemon juice and fresh mint leaves that I have growing outside.
